Youth Creative Writing & Arts Prize Competition

Entries are now open for the SMRC's Youth Creative Writing & Arts Prize 2018

The exciting prize aims to uncover and recognise talented young artists and writers in our region.

The SMRC Creative Writing and Arts Prize is open to anyone aged between 12 and 25 years of age who live, work or study within City of Dandenong, City of Casey or Shire of Cardinia.

There are a number of categories for the Arts prize including Painting and Drawing, Photography and Graphic Design - with separate age groups for each category.

The prize is designed to give artists loads of flexibility regarding materials and media. From drawing and painting to print and photography, we’re giving people the opportunity to be as creative as they like.

Winners for the Youth Arts Prize will be announced on 18th June, 2018 at the opening of the exhibition.

In a 50-1500 word creative writing piece, tell  us a story of culture, community and journeys - reflecting the spirit of Refugee Week.

Winners for the Creative Writing Prize will be announced on June 24th, 2018 at SMRC’s Refugee Week One World Festival.

Entries in the competition will be shown at an exclusive exhibition opening for Refugee Week at Southern Migrant and Refugee Centre on Monday 18th June.

Entries are open April 21st and close at 5pm on May 21st 2018 on World Day of Cultural Diversity and Dialogue
